Pellegrinaggio giubilare alla Casa generalizia dell’Ordine per un gruppo di dipendenti e volontari dell’ospedale San Camillo di Taiwan, accompagnati dal Superiore dalla locale comunità camilliana, padre Giuseppe Didonè.

La delegazione, composta in tutto da 26 persone, ha iniziato un viaggio di 14 giorni in Italia che li porterà anche a Bucchianico (patria di San Camillo), ad Assisi e a Padova, dove verrà celebrata un messa per i 50 anni di ordinazione sacerdotale di padre Didonè.

Per quasi tutti i partecipanti è la prima volta a Roma, e soprattutto alla Casa generalizia dei Camilliani. Un’occasione per conoscere meglio San Camillo e la sua storia, nel quarto centenario dalla morte.

“La nostra comunità – spiega padre Didonè – è composta da 11 religiosi, di cui 8 italiani e 3 cinesi. In quest’anno giubilare abbiamo organizzato una serie di incontri per diffondere la devozione verso San Camillo, e chiuderemo in bellezza con l’inaugurazione – il 12 luglio – di una chiesa intitolata a San Camillo nella città di Lotun”.

“Un grazie di cuore ai Camilliani che ci hanno accolto nella loro Casa generalizia”, aggiunge Camillo Wong, che guida la delegazione di Taiwan. “Per me è un onore essere qui visto che porto il nome del Santo fondatore dell’Ordine. L’ho scelto dieci anni fa, quando mi sono convertito al cattolicesimo e ho ricevuto il sacramento del battesimo”.

I pellegrini hanno visitato con attenzione la chiesa di Santa Maria Maddalena, dove si sono intrattenuti in preghiera davanti all’urna che custodisce le spoglie mortali di San Camillo e al crocifisso che parlò al Santo. Subito dopo si sono spostati nelle sale del museo, e in particolare nel Cubiculum, dove San Camillo morì il 14 luglio 1614.

A jubilee pilgrimage to the generalate house of the Order for a group of employees and volunteers of the St. Camillus Hospital of Taiwan, accompanied by the Superior of the local Camillian community, Father Giuseppe Didonè.

This delegation, made up of twenty-six people, has begun its visit of fourteen days to Italy which will take it to Bucchianico (the town where St. Camillus was born), toAssisi and toPadua, where a Holy Mass will be celebrated for the fiftieth anniversary of the priestly ordination of Father Didonè.

For almost all of those taking part, this is the first time that they have visited Rome, and above all the generalate house of the Camillians. This has been an opportunity to know more about St. Camillus and his history during the fourth centenary of his death.

‘Our community’, explained Father Didonè, ‘is made up of eleven religious, of whom eight are Italian three are Chinese. During this jubilee year we have organised a series of meetings to spread devotion to St. Camillus, and we will end in a fine way with the inauguration on 12 July of a church named after St. Camillus in the city of Lotun’.

‘Heartfelt thanks to the Camillians who have welcomed us to their generalate house’, Camillo Wong declared, who is leading the Taiwandelegation. ‘For me it is an honour to be here given that I bear the name of the saint who founded the Order’. I chose it ten years ago when I converted to Catholicism and I received the sacrament of baptism’.

The pilgrims carefully visited the Churchof St. Mary Magdalenewhere they stopped in prayer in front of the urn that contains the earthly remains of St. Camillus and in front of the crucifix that spoke to the saint. Immediately afterwards they went to the halls of the museum and in particular to the Cubiculum where St. Camillus died on 14 July 1614.

La delegación, compuesta en total por 26 personas, comenzó un viaje de catorce días a Italia, que les llevará a Bucchianico (patria de San Camilo), a Asís y a Padua, donde se celebrará una misa por los 50 años de ordenación sacerdotal del padre Didonè.

Para casi todos los participantes es la primera vez que llegan a Roma. Se trata de un viaje que les permitirá conocer mejor a San Camilo y su historia, en el cuarto centenario de su muerte.

“Nuestra comunidad –explica el padre Didonè– está compuesta por once religiosos, de los que ocho son italianos y tres chinos. En este años jubilar hemos organizado una serie de encuentros para difundir la devoción a San Camilo, y lo concluiremos con la inauguración, el 12 de julio, de una iglesia que será dedicada a San Camilo en la ciudad de Lotun”.

“Un especial agradecimiento deseamos hacer patente a los Camilos que nos han acogido en su Casa general”, añade Camilo Wong, quien guía la delegación de Taiwan. “Para mí es un honor estar aquí y llevar el nombre del Santo fundador dela Orden. Loelegí hace diez años cuando me convertí al catolicismo y recibí el sacramento del bautismo”.

Los peregrinos visitaron con mucha atención la iglesia de Santa María Magdalena, donde estuvieron rezando delante de la urna que conserva los restos mortales de San Camilo y del Crucifijo que habló al Santo. Seguidamente visitaron las salas del museo, y especialmente el Cubiculum, donde San Camilo falleció el 14 julio de 1614.

“Un merci du fond du coeur aux Camilliens qui nous ont accueillis dans leur Maison Générale”, ajoute Camillo Wong, qui guide la délégation de Taïwan. “Pour moi, c’est un honneur d’être ici, étant donné que je porte le nom du Saint fondateur de l’Ordre. Je l’ai choisi il y a dix ans, quand je me suis converti au catholicisme et que j’ai reçu le sacrement du baptême.”

Les pèlerins ont visité avec attention l’église de Santa Maria Maddalena, où ils ont continué à prier devant l’urne qui garde les restes mortels de saint Camille et devant le Crucifix qui parla au Saint. Tout de suite après, ils se sont arrêtés dans les salles du musée, et en particulier dans le Cubiculum, où saint Camille mourut le 14 juillet 1614.
