After the election of the Chapter Definitory yesterday the 17th of June, it continued with the formation of five study groups divided according to languages. Their work was focused on the “Summary of the Provincial councils, Vice-provincials and Delegations regarding their reflections and proposals from the Local chapters.”

Each study group through a moderator and a secretary prepared some questions addressed to the members of the outgoing Consultors, including the reports submitted to them of the previous day.

In the afternoon, the secretaries of the five study groups reported at the meeting the reflections from the discussions in the morning. It was evidenced the strong sense of disappointment about the recent judicial proceedings that involved the former Superior General and also because of the media coverage that it had.

After the discussion of the “past wounds”, it moved to the proposals in view of the future. Two in particular: what should be the profile of the new Superior General and the new Consulta, and to which criteria of discernment must be chosen.

The day ended with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the President of the Chapter Fr. Leocir Pessini, and with a fraternal dinner.
