Today the first two stamps dedicated to the fourth centenary of the death of St. Camillus de Lellis were issued.
This initiative is of the Sovereign Military Hospital Order of the St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta: this is its four hundred and sixty second philatelic issue.
These stamps (each of €1.90 for a total amount of €3.80 ) portray respectively St. Camillus helping a sick man and the logos of the Camillian fourth centenary. There are a total of 9,000 complete sets.
Other stamps, produced by the Italian Post Office and the philatelic office of the Vatican will be issued shortly, something that confirms the great relevance, for the secular world as well, of the figure and the message of St. Camillus.
