Saturday 14 December and Sunday 15 December will be special appointments for the fourth centenary of the death of St. Camillus de Lellis: the Camillian white nights.
For two days the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Campo Marzio, Rome, and the adjoining St. Camillus de Lellis Museum, will be open to the public from 9.00 to 24.00.
Everybody will be able to have guided tours both of the church and of the museum.
This will be a unique opportunity to visit the places where St. Camillus lived, worked and died, in the historic heart of the capital, a few yards away from the Pantheon.
These are splendid places but also places full of spirituality and ones that are made even more evocative during the hours of the night.
Camillian gadgets, books and calendars will also be available.
As we draw near to Holy Christmas and during the IV Centenary this will be an opportunity to know more about the Order of St. Camillus and its spirituality and to pray for all sick people.
On Saturday 21 December, on the other hand, at 17.00 at the ‘Salus Infirmorum’ Church of the St. Camillus Hospital of Rome, there will be the traditional Christmas concerto for sax, voices and piano performed by Fr. Francesco Orsini, Antonio Pochiero and Paolo Colafranceschi, with the participation of the ‘In Laetitia’ Choir led by Maestro Fabio Nesbeda and other guests. The event has been organised by ARSPOP (Artists for Solidarity Between Peoples) and the Camillians.
