There are very many celebrations for the fourth centenary of the death of St. Camillus de Lellis, the patron saint of the sick and health-care workers. Some initiatives are of a cultural and scientific character and others of a spiritual character and involve popular devotion.
We wish to intensify in a special way, during this jubilee year, prayer for the sick and the suffering and their families. St. Camillus often pointed out the tabernacle to the sick, indicating that there was to be found the true physician and healer. This prayer is raised to heaven by every Camillian community. In a special way we would like to point out the appointments of the two most important houses of the Order for St. Camillus:
The Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Campo Marzio, Rome
Every Sunday during Holy Mass at 19.00 a special prayer for all sick and suffering people.
Every last Saturday of the month at 19.00 a Holy Mass of healing presided over by the Camillian Fr. Rosario Mauriello
The St. Camillus Sanctuary – Bucchianico (Chieti)
Every fourteenth day of the month at 19.00 a Holy Mass and special prayer for the sick
We hope that people will take part in these appointments.
