Organ donation movement is an incredible gift that can light up the life of many and bring comfort and relief to the lives of several people, writes Bobin MI about the newly launched Camillian ministry Life Beats
Bengaluru: Life beats is St. Camillus organ donation movement which was inaugurated on April 25, 2015 by Rev.Fr. Leo Pessini the Superior General, the Ministers of the Infirm. Up on releasing the logo of the Life beats movement, he appreciated everyone for their hard work and commitment. Fr. Baby Ellickal our Vicar Provincial handed over the first copy of the organ donation form to the Superior General as a sign of his willingness and encouragement to the rest of the world. It was a great moment of joy for all of us. In his awe-inspiring message Superior General encouraged all the Camillians to be channels of service to the sick. He said in his message that, the organ donation is meant to save lives. Donating organ is a chance to give the gift of life. I cannot possibly describe what an amazing gift those people and their families receive. The idea of this movement originated from the fact that, we need to do better service to the humanity because we still have people dying and those waiting to receive the gift of life. These are people who just want to live and who would rely on a generous gift, a generous donation to enable them to live. Rev. Fr. Leo Pessini our superior General was full of admiration for the new initiative of Camillians in India. As a result the entire community came up with their willingness and solidarity to be part of this new venture.
After the inauguration, most of the participants signed the consent form for donating their organs and handed over the consent forms to Rev.Fr.Baby Ellickal, the Vicar Provincial. Every organ donation meant to provide a quality of life which would make a substantial difference in the receiver, in his ability to work, to be out there with his family or community.
