Fr. Leocir Pessini, superior general celebrates the World Day of the Sick at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lotung with a Eucharist presided by Fr. Giuseppe Didone, delegate superior of Taiwan. Handicap men and women and children coming from the Camillian institutions and some sick from the hospital have joined this very important celebration. All Camillian religious of the delegation were present, praying together for all those who are suffering.

During his message, Fr. Leo expressed his deep gratitude to the men and women, healthcare personnel and volunteers, lay and religious for their great sacrifices and live for the sick and suffering. In a special way, he expressed a deep gratitude to the sick who made us aware and feel the presence of Christ in us. Because of them, we are able to experience the love of God and share it to those who are sufferings. He encouraged the congregation especially the healthcare givers to imitate St. Camillus who cared the sick like a mother caring for her only child.

The celebration was organized by the pastoral health care department of the St. Mary’s Hospital. The Camillian sisters of the Taiwan province have participated also in the celebration.
