The work with families struck by ‘Ebola’ in Sierra Leone is being pursued with alacrity by the Camillian Task Force together with people working with it at a local level.
To see how from the Camillian world, but not necessarily only from our Order, there are volunteers, both religious and otherwise, who come together in charity to serve Christ nailed by this fatal disease, is a reason for joy.
They come from all parts of the earth: India, the Philippines, Spain, Ireland…
The return of our Camillian religious brother Br. Luca Perletti to Italy had been envisaged over the next few days.
Father Aris Miranda, a General Consultor and the head of the Camillian Task Force had asked for Br. Luca to be allowed to extend his stay in Sierra Leone in order to achieve a better implementation of the project for psycho-social help in villages and with families who have been victims of Ebola and to deal with a number of difficulties caused by the failure to arrive of certain of our religious brothers whose nations have delayed in granting travelling permits abroad and in particular to areas where the Ebola infection is present.
The Italian Province of the Camillians has shouldered the greatest burden as a consequence of this extended absence of Br. Luca but with generosity it has taken part in the efforts of the Order to be present and active amongst the poor. This is a time of grace from which we cannot exempt ourselves.
There is a part of our emetic sweat in the Gethsemane of Sierra Leone, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
To each disciple his Galilee where he can meet the risen Christ, Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
