Beautiful testimony of Fr. Cyrillo – a Dutch Camillian confrere – and Maria Poulisse, who have been working for many years in the Camillian community in Baranquilla (Colombia), at the ‘Fundación Centro Educativo de Habilitación y Rehabilitación Integral San Camilo’.

Last week we had the visit of the First Lady of Colombia, Veronica Alcocer, wife of president Gustavo Petro in our projects. She visited first Casa Ludica, a project to prevent drugs addiction and criminality by offering music, sport and education activities to 300 children of the neighbourhood.

Afterwards she came the CE CAMILO, where we offer education and rehabilitation to 170 children with severe or multiple limitations and vocational education to 50 youths with a disability from 16 to 25 years old. In CE CAMILO we also work with 550 children with a disability in 12 towns of the Department Atlántico and their teachers and we attend over a 1000 persons with a disability in our orthopaedic workplace, ambulant therapies and consults.

There wasn´t time to visit the Hogar San Camilo, where we have 70 residents, all homeless people between over 70 years of age -the eldest nearly 100 years. But Lady Veronica promised to come back. She was very impressed when she saw the projects. I send you 2 short videos. The first of her visit to Casa Ludica and the second of CE CAMILO.
