On 14 July, the jubilee year for the fourth centenary of the death of St. Camillus was opened officially in Bucchianco.
The whole world, thanks as well to the live broadcast by Rai Uno of the Holy Mass, gathered around the town where the Founder Saint was born and where these solemn celebrations began.
There was the whole of our Camillian heart in the square of Bucchianico which was thronged with the fellow townsmen of our saint, leading local figures and pilgrims, for a 14 July which this year has an ever greater value because it coincides with the inauguration of the jubilee year.
This was a day made even more special by the words of Pope Francis which he pronounced during the Angelus at Castel Gandolfo and with which he wanted to remember the Giant of Charity and all the ‘spiritual sons and daughters of St. Camillus who live his charism of charity in daily contact with the sick’.
You can read a chronicle of the events here, on the official site of the fourth centenary.
