The theologian Marco Vergottini, who is married and the father of four children, will analyse the subject ‘Another Look at Consecrated Life. How Religious Life and Lay Life Illumine each Other on the Pathway of Faith’
During this year which the Pope has wanted to dedicate to consecrated life in the Church it appeared to us advisable to listen to how a lay theologian looks at, and addresses, the experience of monks and religious.
For that matter, there is a coincidence that cannot escape our attention: the year of consecrated life is celebrated between two synods of bishops on the family, the extraordinary synod of last year and the ordinary synod that will be celebrated next October, starting on 4 October, the day after our meeting. This chronological concomitance also stimulates us to reflect upon how religious life and family life can support each other and illumine each other on the pathway of faith.
