Laudato Si Day was observed from 25th to 28th June 2024 at the Camillian hospitals in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The theme of the event was “The Climate Crisis and the Care of Our Common Home in Light of Laudato Si.”
The event was attended by the Provincial Councilor responsible for Pastoral care and Mission and Coordinator of the Laudato Sí Project of the Province, Fr. Júnior Moreira, M.I., as well as the Coordinator of the Pastoral Health Care in the Camillian Hospitals in western Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, Fr. André Luiz Giombelli, M.I.
The purpose of the event was to promote reflection on Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Sí, which focuses on the care of our common home. The event aimed to draw the attention of the entire church and people of goodwill to the critical issues of our time, emphasizing the Camillians’ commitment to the holistic care of both the human person and creation.
