Dear All,
As mentioned in the previous mail, 4 groups have left for site. The group which am in has reached Gorkha for assessment. Brother Madhu has left for Sindupalchowk.
On the way from Kathmandu we noticed that only few buildings near Kathmandu were completely destroyed and once we were on the outskirts the places looked as if nothing has happened. There were few bridges we crossed and all were intact with no visible destruction. Upon reaching Gorkha we saw few buildings with cracks and few buildings with roof collapsed but since we reached at night I was not able to take pictures. I shall send them tomorrow morning itself.
There are 10 people in this team. We have internally divided the group of 3 team with 2 in each team. This 3 teams will be visiting 4 villages: Team 1 comprising of Anjan ( caritas india) and Thomas ( caritas Germany) will visit Tapale and Asarang villages. Team 2 comprising of Akash ( CRS) and Ceecile (Korea) will be visiting Baguwa. Team 3 comprising of Royce ( CTF/ Cariras India) and Thomas ( caritas Austria) will be visiting Masele. We have a communication team Stephen (caritas Germany) and Mathew ( caritas international) will be visiting all villages since they will be taking photographs and will be preparing a short write up about the situation in all 4 villages.
This is the major update for today.
Best Regards,
Royce Abraham
